Grab the best of Italian Outdoor
Overalp is a Tour Operator formed by a team of professionals who have dedicated themselves to the mountains and the outdoors
much of one's life to achieve one's professional and recreational goals.
For various reasons, the idea of OverAlp was latent in each of us since our youth, in open-air getaways to immerse ourselves in the nature and culture of the Italian territory, living their own sports passions. After over thirty years of travels and explorations in Italy and around the world, each time ascertaining the uniqueness of "our" territory that unites the Alps to the Mediterranean, the Ibex with the Lobster, the Amarone alla Pizza and the Colosseum in San Marco, as often happens in these cases, the chance meeting of some of us has brought to light the common aspiration to offer a professional, innovative and inclusive service that really offers the possibility of "grabbing the best of Italian outdoor" combined with all its exceptional natural, cultural and gastronomic diversity. Our team consists of Carlo Gabasio, Guido Chiarle, Paolo Chiarle, Stefano Maffeo and Isabella Strona.
From Biella, Mountain Guide for almost thirty years, Alpine Guides course instructor since 1997
He has been Director of Training Courses for eight years. His knowledge of Alpine Guides formed throughout the national territory was fundamental for the creation of the pool of professionals who follow the Overalp programs. In his experience as an Alpine Guide he lead groups from Italy to the mountains of all continents, from Alaska to Patagonia, from New Zealand to Africa to the Arctic. With Paolo he is CEO of OverAlp and deals with the creation of the most technical outdoor proposals, the selection of professional collaborators and all the multimedia contents of the site.
From Turin, teacher and federal trainer of alpine skiing, has trained in the youth categories since 1987
Climbing instructor since 1994, in 1995 he obtained a degree in Sports Science at the Management des Sports, Loisir et Tourisme Sportif in Lyon (F). Since 1997 he has worked as a commercial agent and since 2001 as a commercial director in the technical sector of sporting goods, pursuing his high mountain climbing activity on ice and rock throughout the Alps. At almost 50 years he decided to realize the classic dream of a lifetime by taking the training path to become an Alpine Guide and getting the first patent in 2017. From the meeting with Carlo and Stefano at the Alpine Guides course the common spark that led to the birth of the OverAlp project was born. From 2018 he left the position of commercial director limiting himself to technical / commercial consultancy and carving out the time to follow the marketing of OverAlp.
From Turin, he graduated in Economics and Business at the University of Turin
Subsequently he held positions in the banking and financial sector before devoting himself to the world of business, with roles of increasing responsibility within the finance area of controlling holding companies of the listed commercial and industrial groups for which he worked, then extending these responsibilities to additional areas and company functions, as purchasing manager, production planning manager, up to supervision of the entire supply chain, including warehouse management and integrated logistics. A great lover of skiing and mountain biking, of which he recently became a certified guide, he expressed from the beginning the desire to be an integral part of the OverAlp project as a result of his own education and cultural training, even before being professional. Paolo is CEO of OverAlp and is the "down to earth" man who has taken charge of the administrative, economic-financial and managerial obligations by acting as an active part in defining the guidelines of the company's core business.
